Are there any types of transactions with the UOB YOLO Card that do not earn rebate?

If you refer to the requirements to earn the additional of 8% and 3% then you should simply spend a minimum amount of $600 in a statement month as total rebate is capped at S$60 per month. To answer your second question, there are transactions that do not earn rebate such as payment of funds to prepaid accounts, instalments payment plans, Charitable/religious organizations, government institutions and services, Balance/funds transfers, cash advances, fees, interests, finance charges, late payment charges, annual fee charges, reversals, other financial charges.

What do you think of the UOB YOLO for a student based on your personal experience?

The UOB YOLO is a good card to fill the areas for dining, grab and entertainment as it were but note that 12% cash back is only for these categories, and any other categories would be best purchased with another card. If you eat out often and use grab frequently (even topping up of grab wallet), this would be a card for you. I advise that you call up UOB once you receive the card and reset your statement month to the calendar month, this way it will make it easier to hit the bonus qualifying period for the 12%.

Are there any types of special transactions that do not earn rebates for spends on the UOB YOLO Card?

Hello there! The following transactions do not earn rebates and they include Payment of funds to prepaid accounts, Instalment payment plans, Charitable or religious organizations, government institutions and services, Balance/funds transfers, cash advances, fees, interests, finance charges, late payment charges, annual fee charges, reversals, other financial charges. The bank identifies transactions and their categories via codes assigned by Visa. These are not decided by the bank but rather by the merchants and their acquiring banks.

What is your honest opinion on the UOB YOLO?

From my personal experience, they offer pretty attractive dining and entertainment offers, but only if you visit these places. Overall I think they are decent but not the best cashback program. Easy to use for the rebate on weekend and definitely a must for dining and entertainment. It appeals more if you are a youth but I use only mostly use when I dine with friends or watch the movies together, will try to use more next time , now paying minimum payment of $100 for $3000 spent till next pay check.
