Family Package Rewards

My family had a really fun time with the 10% off Siam Adventure Club Family Package Booking which came with breakfast for 2 adults and up to 2 kids with a Kids room setup in room and full access to kids activities. We even enjoyed daily evening drinks for whole family on selected menu from 5pm to 6pm.

Too bad it is not an unlimited cashback card

Unfortunately, the HSBC advance card is not an unlimited cashback card as they have a cap on the cashback per month, even for advance banking clients. Furthermore, if you are not an advance banking client, you would not get subsequent card fee waiver if you do not get to spend at least $12,000 in a year.

Poor and upleasant hotline

I am a fresh graduate and just started my first job, I signed up for this card due to the onetime $150 cash back reward for $800 spend within the first two months. However for its main monthly rewards, it is nothing to be pleasant about and the hotline is very bad, I even had to hold more than 20 minutes during non-peak hour.

Looking to maximize on the number of priority pass visits and other privileges

If you are like me an HSBC Premier client and also a frequent traveller that can maximize the number of priority pass visits, limo and meet-and-assist services as well as your supplementary cardholders too, then this is the card for you. The reduced general mile earn rate is worth the trade-off for the unlimited priority pass memberships, as well as the high number of limo and meet-and-assist services that you can use.

5% year-round cash rebates on dining, groceries, petrol and more

For me nothing beats the 5% year-round cash rebates on dining, groceries, petrol and transport (that is taxis, ride hailing, trains and buses inclusive), locally and overseas when you spend minimum S$600 per month. And the cash rebate is capped at S$150 per month. So if you don’t drive, not to worry as you can enjoy 5% cash rebate for your transportation needs, be it a taxi ride, a booking made via ride hailing apps, or trains/buses.

Gives you 5% cashback on telco bills with a minimum spend of $400

Must times majority of credit cards offer cashback on daily needs like transportation and food but they neglect other important necessity such as the common internet. Anyway the HSBC Visa Platinum credit card is such a rare card as it gives you 5% cashback on telco bills with a minimum spend of $400. In addition, it gives you modest rebates on groceries and petrol, so you can also use it as an all-purpose cashback card.

Spend of $400 a month gets 5% cashback on telco bills and 3% cashback on groceries and petrol

I love the features which allows a Spend of $400 a month to get 5% cashback on telco bills and 3% cashback on groceries and petrol. They also observe a low cashback cap of $60 per quarter that is $20 a month and one must spend the amount consecutively for 3 months in order to get the cashback or alternatively, spend $800 a month and get 5% on telco bills, groceries and petrol, capped at $120 per quarter.

I don't like their internet banking layout and i find it doesn't seem very friendly to me

I pretty much use this card only when I know that I will spend more than $2000 in a given month and these transaction does not earn more than 2.5% cash back in other card categories. I don't really fancy their internet banking layout as it doesn't seems very friendly to me. Therefore I always rely on the paper statement to make payment.

It’s my card of choice especially with the 1.5% cashback across all categories

My experience with their customer service is not clement furthermore not getting back to me on the queries I had highlighted but overall, it’s my card of choice especially with the 1.5% cashback across all categories, which allows me to buy discounted Golden Village Tickets and have access to HSBC 1 to 1 Dining deals. Until another credit card offers a greater than 1.5% cashback across all categories without a time frame, this is the card I am sticking to now.

This is a good cashback credit card for those who have high spending amount every month

I am a low spender hence it may not be easy for me to clock $500 monthly expenditure on credit cards but this is actually a good cashback card at 2.5%, especially where you spend above $2,000. Otherwise, other cards will be a better alternative to this for smaller purchases. This is a good cashback credit card for those who have high spending amount every month. My father uses it to pay for insurance premium as it gives cashback for insurance premium too.

When I signed up for this card I got $100 vouchers for it

I only just recently purchased this card. There are a lot of rebates features that come with the card, some I am still getting familiar with which I can use to offset my next purchases. When I signed up for this card I got $100 vouchers for it. However there are yet still a lot of promotions going on for this card.

Essentially I use this card only when there is dining discounts

Funny enough, I signed up for this card a couple of years back in order to get a free Samsonite luggage after spending $5,000. I still use this card howbeit not as frequently as I used to previously. Essentially I use this card only when there's dining discounts or when I use it along with the free HSBC Entertainer App. The HSBC Entertainer App provides 1-for-1 deals.

Online expenditure and dining rebates are decent with this card

While online expenditure and dining rebates are decent with this card, the card has been ousted by other credit cards. Aside from maybe the discounted Golden Village movie tickets they offer which in my honest opinion is far better than any other bank's credit cards or rebates. This card does not really have much to write home about.

HSBC Revolution Credit Card / HSBC Bank Singapore

I don’t see a point using this card frequently unless there’s a specific HSBC promotion

The cash rebates for supermarket and dining have been outshined by other family oriented card. Presently, I don’t see a point to use this card frequently unless there’s a specific HSBC promotion with the retailer or airline. I use to hold this card but nothing fantastic and signed up due to bank promotions. Regretted it and hope my review will make others to think twice about the purschase.

A good miles-buying opportunity for 40,000 miles at S$488 for HSBC Premier Clients

I find this card to be a good miles-buying opportunity for 40,000 miles at S$488 for HSBC Premier Clients. The unlimited priority pass for both the principal and supplementary cardholder(s) makes this card worth the fee alone but provided of course that there are supplementary cardholders to share the benefits with and that it will be heavily utilized.

The meet-and-assist can be helpful at overly crowded airports without Fast-Track/ABTC/Diplomatic lines

On my last overseas trip I discovered that the departure airport limo service offered by the card is a major plus point while the meet-and-assist can be helpful at overly crowded airports without Fast-Track/ABTC/Diplomatic lines. HSBC Premier Clients get to receive four of each benefit upon registration and an additional one of each service for every block of SGD 2,000 spent in a month, all up to 24 a year. Although the services can only be utilized by the principal cardholder only. This card is overshadowed by its poor mile earn rate of 1.0 mpd for local spend and 2.0 mpd for overseas spend, that is superseded by non-fee cards such as the PrviMiles.

Purchase discounted Golden Village movie tickets at a rate that is far better than any other bank's credit cards or prevailing rebates

To me the HSBC cards have only one good benefit in which they are able to purchase discounted Golden Village movie tickets at a rate that is far better than any other bank's credit cards or prevailing rebates. I find that this is the only plus point of this HSBC credit card and otherwise, this card is a hit and run for me and you can sign up for only its sign up gift and also for discounted Golden Village tickets.

HSBC stands out as one of a few lenders that provides details regarding its interest rates

HSBC offers the lowest guaranteed flat and effective interest rates for debt consolidation loans in Singapore. Additionally, it is currently waiving its application fee for online applicants, which is normally S$88 or 1% of the loan amount. While other lenders advertise lower rates than HSBC, they use vague language such as "as low as" that indicates that borrowers may actually be offered substantially higher rates. For this reason, HSBC stands out as one of a few lenders that provides details regarding its interest rates. Additionally, it offers the lowest rates among banks that guarantee interest rates published online.

This account is only open to consumers with an Advance banking relationship. Overall, HSBC Advance Time Deposit is fairly accessible, with just an S$5,000 minimum to place a deposit of any tenure at standard rates. Interest rates do not vary by deposit size, though rates jump substantially for longer tenures. In fact, board rates from 1 to12 months range from 0.05% to 0.25%, but a 24 month tenure earns an impressive 1.45% p.a. This is one of the highest 24 month rates on the market, making the HSBC Advance Fixed Deposit excellent for long-term deposits
