“I’m just going to browse in this store really quick.” That’s what I told my husband every time we passed a clothing store that had a big “Sale” sign. I am a shopper. I like to find a bargain for clothing, handbags, and at times electronics. I even shop for others! I am a firm believer that the credit card I use to shop should reward me in return. Here are a few recommendations.

This is valid for both local and overseas shopping. Everything else earns 1 point for every S$1. You can use your points to offset some of your purchases on your credit card (that’s like buying something and getting a discount), redeem for shopping vouchers at participating merchants (that’s like getting a gift card), redeem for cash rebate (that’s like getting paid to shop), or redeem them at over 300,000 hotels and 900 airlines with no blackout dates (that’s like getting to go on vacation for free). Furthermore, you can get exclusive online discounts with your Citi Rewards Card. All you need to do is check the Citi World Privileges to see your card’s exclusive deals. The current welcome bonus is up to 30,000 Citi ThankYou Points. Unfortunately, your points are capped at 10,000 per statement month. Maybe this is good so I don’t shop out of control!

Final Thoughts

It is great to be rewarded for shopping. Choosing the right credit card is essential to get the most points, miles, or vouchers for your purchases. Most good reward credit cards come with annual fees. Be sure to calculate that charge when you budget for your next credit card. Happy shopping!
