What are the scenarios not covered by WICA?

My co-worker was traveling to wok while commuting. While he was traveling, he got in an accident and is now confined at a hospital. I want to help him make claims. I:ve heard that the Work Injury Compensation Act can help my friend make claims in case he got injured under work related terms. Is his scenario covered by the Work Injusry Compensation Act?

Unfortunately, your friend will not be covered by WICA. WICA does not cover traffic accidents while you made a personal detour while travelling during work, self injury under the influence of alcohol or a prescription drug which was not prescribed by a doctor, traffic accidents while travelling in your own car, your friend’s car, or public transport between home and workplace and deliberate self injury or aggravation of existing injury.
