Should I register my business even if it online?

Not everyone is in the field of working for someone. Sometimes we are in the area of buy and selling or retailing. I opened a store recently that is about retailing and it is also a buy and sell field. I do not know if I should be registering my business to the authorities even though it is an online shop.
