Will employees receive payment if the company shutdown?

The company my brother used to work shutdown and forced them to take unpaid leave. In some cases, when this happened, the employees were able to fight for their right and was able to get the salary they deserved. We wanted to know what those people do that made those companies pay them. We are planning to do the same thing not only for my brother to get his salary, but also for the other victims too.

The employer of those employees should receive a back payment because that will be like a credit or debt. The employer disregarded the feelings and opinions of the employees by just forcing them to leave and specifically, an unpaid leave. The employer technically owe money to those people. If ever the employees file a case, that company might get shutdown permanently.
