Will I be fined for carrying fruits in public in Singapore?
I hear Singapore is a fine country and one gets fine for everything, even for as little as carrying fruits in public.

No Name
Depends on the kind of fruit. In Singapore, you can be fined for carrying Durians, a fruit well-known in SEA. It is infamous for its odour even when uncut. You can liken its smell to dirty, sweaty socks, or flirty gutter water. Fines can go up to S$5,000! Please note that these fines are imposed as deterrent for undesirable behaviour. So it is common to see fines for behaviour such as littering, spitting and Eating on the subway/bus.
