It does not matter if you’re earning $4000 or $10,000 a month, if you don’t have personal money management and self-control, you’re in for trouble. If you are single, rent a room in an HDB (Govt. housing) instead of an entire apartment or condo. Eating out is cheaper than cooking at home, both in terms of money and time. Learn to depend on public transportation. Singapore has world class facilities and proper road network. This will do better than buying a car spending monthly on fuel, parking, ERP (toll), etc.
