Any Amex express platinum user here who can confirm for me the eligibility for the American express platinum card?

I have been working full time now after graduating from university and think it is time to apply online for the American express platinum card. Who can tell the eligibility of this card?

To apply online for the American Express Platinum Card, it is essential that you are over 21 years of age. If you intend to get a supplementary Card, the applicant should be over 18 years of age. I want to believe you are a Singapore Citizen and Resident and in that case you must have earnings which provide an income of over S$200,000 per annum.

40,000 Membership Rewards points to refer a friends to the card

I like the idea that I can receive 40,000 Membership Rewards points when I get to successfully refer any of my friends to the card. Even more so as my friends can also receive 40,000 Membership Rewards points upon spend of S$5,000 in the first 3 months of their Card Membership. I think that is pretty much a win-win situation.

Amex's loyalty program allows exchang for statement credits or cash back

With the Amex's loyalty program I love that they can be exchanged for statement credits or cash back, used to book travel through Amex's travel website, or transferred to any of 19 airline and three hotel transfer partners. Transferable points to me are among the most valuable features. The card earns a whopping 5x points on airfare purchased directly through the airline, as well as flights and hotels reserved through Amex Travel. It earns one point for every dollar spent elsewhere.

Comes with a welcome offer of 60,000 Membership Rewards points

The Platinum Card comes with a welcome offer of 60,000 Membership Rewards points after you must have spent $5,000 on purchases in the first three months after opening your account. Based on valuations, those points are worth about $1,200 which alone makes up for two years of the annual fee.

Poor Customer Service

I am quite very disappointed with this card as I have never received the vouchers for all the points I have accumulated so far. I have on several occasions made complaints via the phone and even in person, but all to no avail. I would not recommend this card to anyone for this reason, i have to say unfortunately.

Poor and upleasant hotline

I am a fresh graduate and just started my first job, I signed up for this card due to the onetime $150 cash back reward for $800 spend within the first two months. However for its main monthly rewards, it is nothing to be pleasant about and the hotline is very bad, I even had to hold more than 20 minutes during non-peak hour.

OCBC Frank Card offers young adults a great, no-fee way to earn cashback from social and online spend

OCBC Frank Card stands out for its low minimum spend requirement and annual fee waiver however, it’s not a great match for consumers seeking everyday cashback. Online spend on utilities, recurring bills, and school and hospital payments are all not eligible for rebate. Dining, groceries, and other categories are also not rewarded. Ultimately, OCBC Frank Card offers young adults a great, no-fee way to earn cashback from social and online spend. OCBC Frank Card is definitely worth consideration.

Earn up to 1% rebate on your purchase

If you target to spend on major event tickets and high price items with the plan to split by instalment then this card is for you. However I notice that if you have an existing OCBC saving account, it makes bill payments much more seamless. And aside from being able to split payment into monthly instalments interest free, you can earn up to 1% rebate on your purchase. Only few cards in the market that allow auto convert spending into interest free instalment and still be entitled to 0.5% or 1% cash rebate.

American Express Personal Card membership rewards points do not expire

First of all, unlike other loyalty programmes, the American Express Personal Card membership rewards points do not expire. Furthermore, with no restriction on the number of points you can stand to accumulate, you just need to choose the reward you want and you'll have time to get it, pretty much the skies can be your limit as you can use the points the way you want from redeeming shopping, travel and entertainment rewards to offsetting purchases made on your Card.

Ease of use to accumulate on miles

The American Express Krisflyer Credit Card has an attractive sign up bonus and it is easy to use to accumulate on miles as no conversion into KF account is required, and monthly auto “sweeping” of miles help save in the conversion fee. I also have had good experiences with their customer care service as the call center service is absolutely awesome.
