What is the legarl process in retrenching an employee?
My company is currently liquidating assets and in need of retrenching some employees. Who are the one's required to submit the notifications and when should we/they submit it and when is the supposed deadline? What are the penalties if in case I do not comply with the process or if I unintentionally skip one of the processes?

Employers who own a business that employes more than 10 employees and are planning to retract 5 employees should notify the Ministry of Manpower. especially when employees are given the retrenchment notice within any 6 month period. The notification must be submitted within 5 working days after your employee is notified about their retrenchment. Administrative penalties can be implied to fail to comply with the requirements on the mandatory retrenchment notification.
